Cynortoides Roewer, 1912 is a small genus of the Neotropical family Cosmetidae, subfamily Cosmetinae with 9 species from the Caribbean.

Cynorta cubana Banks, 1909 by original designation, subsequently Cynortoides cubanus cubanus (Banks, 1909) by Roewer, 1912.
Diagnosis[]
Briefly, Roewer 1912 (p.61) defined as: 6 segmented t1 thickened; normal chelicerae; area I tubercles, II unarmed, III larger spines, IV same/larger spines; legs normal/slim.
[Original, für das Scutum] - I. Area mit einem mittleren Paare niedriger, stumpfer, aber deutlich erkennbarer Tuberkeln; II. Area völlig unbewehrt, ohne Tuberkel oder Dörnchenpaar; III. und IV. Area mit je einem mittleren Paare spitzer Kegeldörnchen, die alle vier von einander gleich weit entfernt und somit im Quadrat stehen; V. Area unbewehrt.
[Original, For scutum] - 1st area with a middle pair of low, blunt, but clearly recognizable tubercles; 2nd area completely unarmed, without a pair of tubercles or pair of spines; 3rd and 4th area each with a medial pair of sharp conical spines, all four of which are equidistant from one another and are therefore in a square; 5th area not reinforced.
