Nemastomella Mello-Leitão 1936 is a genus of Nemastomatinae with 11 species and subspecies.

Type species[]

Nemastomella integripes Mello-Leitão, 1936 (= Nemastoma dubium Mello-Leitão, 1936).

Distribution[]

The genus Nemastomella presents a predominantly Iberian range, all species are represented in the Iberian Peninsula, and only Nemastomella bacillifera extends to regions outside the peninsula (Hillyard, 1998): its presence in Southwest France (to Bordeaux) is easily explained by climate continuity with the Cantabrian region and the high frequency in the French western Pyrenees, but it remains to prove the origin of the population of South West England (Devon), if either recent introduction or relict postglacial area; in any case a definitive identification is not yet published. Within the Iberian Peninsula, gender extends to Catalonia (Girona and Barcelona), Pyrenees (very frequent in the northern slope), Montes Vascos, Cantabrian Mountains, Montes de León, northern tip of Portugal, Sierra de Guadarrama, north end of Sistema Ibérico, Serrania de Cuenca and Albarracín, and finally the Sierras de Cazorla and Segura, which represent a significant expansion to the south of its geographical area.
