Raymond Robert Forster was a New Zealander arachnologist (16 June 1922, Hastings - 1 July 2000, Dunedin), who worked mainly with harvestmen from Australia and New Zealand.
Notable contributions[]
Forster wrote two monographies about Australian Opiliones, and a monography on harvestmen from New Zealand which included many illustrations, even drawings of male genitalia. In this latter monography he described Synthetonychiidae and revised many genera of Triaenonychidae. He also contributed to the knowledge of the biogeography of arachnids from New Zealand.
