Etymology[]

Paravonones incrassatus Pickard-Cambridge, 1904, by original designation.
Diagnosis[]
Included species[]
- Heterovonones insularis Roewer, 1947:9 - Cuba
- Heterovonones incrassatus (Pickard-Cambridge, 1904): 553 - Mexico (Tabasco, Chiapas). Includes junior synonyom Paravonones schneirlai Goodnight & Goodnight, 1946.
Notes[]
The synonym Paravonones schneirlai Goodnight & Goodnight, 1946 needs re-evaluation as although Goodnight & Goodnight, 1953 examine a large series of material from Chiapas and examine their variation under the revised name of Vonones incrassatus (Pickard-Cambridge, 1904), some differences from the Tabasco tyoes (Teapa) are apparent, most notably none of the Chiapas material seems to have larger-hind legs and the incrassate femur IV in males - which is a key diagnostic feature of the types for H.incrassatus (Pickard-Cambridge, 1904).
