Kimulidae Pérez-González, Kury, and Alonso-Zarazaga, 2007, are a neotropical harvestman family of the Suborder Laniatores, in the superfamily Zalmoxoidea.

DescriptionEdit

Harvestmen with dorsal scutum bell shaped and laterals of carapace convex. Legs III–IV without tarsal process and scopula. Chelicerae with well-marked bulla and without remarkable armature.

DistributionEdit

The family is endemic to the Neotropics. The core of the species occurs in Venezuela, Colombia, and the West Indies. An isolated species Tegipiolus pachypus was found in northeastern Brazil.

TaxonomyEdit

There are currently 9 genera with 30 species. Kimulidae seems to be closely related to Escadabiidae.
