  • Despiroides Mello-Leitão 1932: 225 [junior subjective synonym of Mitobates Sundevall, 1833 by Kury (1990a); type species: Despiroides xanthophthalmus Mello-Leitão, 1932, by original designation].
  • Metaroeweria Mello-Leitão 1936b: 38 [junior subjective synonym of Mitobates Sundevall, 1833 by Kury (1990a); type species: Metaroeweria insignis Mello-Leitão, by original designation].

Mitobates from Greek μίτος (thread) + βάτης (one that treads). Gender masculine. Dolichoscelis from Greek δολιχός (long) + σκέλος (leg). Gender masculine. Despiroides from pre-existing genus Despirus + Greek εἶδος (in the shape of). Gender masculine. Metaroeweria from Greek μετά (beyond) + pre-existing genus Roeweria. Gender feminine.

PlacementEdit

Dolichoscelis originally in the newly created Divisio 3tia, which was never used by subsequent authors.
