Nothippus limbatus Thorell, 1891 is the type species (by monotypy) of the genus Nothippus (Laniatores, Assamiidae).

Supra niger, utrinque luteo-limbatus , hoc limbo in parte cephalothoracica scuti dorsualis latissimo, in reliquo scuto et in segmentis liberis tribus insequentibus satis angusto; parte cephalothoracica praeterea linea longitudinali media sub-lutea notata; scuto dorsuali granulis minutis consperso, tuberculo oculorum granulis paucis parvis praedito, segmentis dorsualibus liberis panilo evidentius et densius granulosis; ventre nigro-limbato, praeterea cum partibus oris et coxis subter pallide ferrugineo; mandibulis luteotestaceis, supra in parte apicali dense nigro-punctatis; palpis sordide testaceis, parum nigro-maculatis, pedibus ad maximam partem nigricantibus. — Long, truncì circa 4 millim.
