Philora tuxtlae Goodnight & Goodnight, 1954 is the type species (by original designation) of the genus Philora (Laniatores:Stygnopsidae).

  • Type specimen is in American Museum of Natural History; #[1]
  • Cruz-López & Francke question the accuracy of the original authors' determination of the sex of the type specimens, but have not examined this material personally[2]
