Notable contributionsEdit

Pavesi's described two genera of Ethiopian Assamiidae, for which he gave creative names (unlike the endless series of clone names of Roewer) -- Amhara Pavesi, 1897 and Sidama Pavesi, 1895. The most famous species described by him is the Phalangodidae Scotolemon doriae Pavesi, 1878, from Italy.
