Sabaconidae Dresco, 1970:1210[1] (Dyspnoi) originally comprised only the genus Sabacon. New genera were allocated to the family by Shear (1986) and Giribet (2010), but Schönhofer, 2013:19[2] has created a new family (Taracidae) for the other genera, restoring Sabaconidae to a monogeneric family, comprising only Sabacon.
