The stragulum is a feature present in the penis of Zalmoxidae and related families. Defined for the first time by Kury & Pérez (2007: 244) as "Capsula externa visible, well developed and modified into a stragulum (new name, from Latin stragulum, a spread, covering, bedspread), articulated to the truncus like a jackknife."
