Trionyxellinae Roewer, 1912 is a subfamily of Assamiidae with 14 genera and 20 species.

SynonymyEdit

Placement and compositionEdit

It was one of the subfamilies originally included in Assamiidae when Roewer (1912)[1] rearranged it.

Many of its genera have been since then transferred to other new subfamilies, mainly in the great review by Roewer (1935)[2].

Included in the Trionyxellidae by Mello-Leitão (1949)[3] along with three other assamiid subfamilies.

Apart from the nucleus of species in India and Sri Lanka, it has species in arid SW Africa, in Malaysian Peninsula and in Borneo. It surely does not represent a monophyletic group.
